WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU OBTAIN YOUR FRENCH RESIDENCE PERMIT
OBTAINING A FRENCH RESIDENCE PERMIT IS A LENGTHY PROCESS; DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF LEAVING IT TO THE LAST MINUTE
Whether you have recently arrived in France or are already living here, a visit to
the Préfecture is a recurring event in relation to your administrative procedures in
France.
The best way to prepare is to find out about the documents you need to gather even
before you arrive in France.

But if this is not the case, no need to panic; it’s always possible to complete the
required procedures once you’re in France!
Moreover, some procedures are easier to carry out in France, particularly those
needed to obtain the required endorsements on your translations, which must be
sworn rather than certified.
HOW DOES AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE FRENCH RESIDENCE PERMIT AT THE PREFECTURE GO?
THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE DEDICATED TO EXPATS
When you apply for your residence permit, you must first gather a certain number of documents, as well as their sworn translations in order to be valid for the French administration system.
You will also need to purchase your tax stamp, take your photos according to the required standards and book an appointment on a dedicated platform.
When you go to the Préfecture on the big day, you will need to speak French to the officers who will be receiving you at the counters, after waiting outside (bring gloves or an umbrella, depending on the weather) and then in the Préfecture’s waiting room.
If you are not very comfortable speaking in French, it is strongly recommended that you bring a certified interpreter to accompany you and facilitate this process. The administrative environment can be quite nerve-wracking as it is, so avoiding any language barriers will give you one less thing to worry about!
You will then receive a temporary receipt (récépissé), and your residence permit card (carte de séjour) will be given to you later on. Thus, you will have to be patient and go back to collect the permanent residence permit upon receiving a notification to do so.
We will assist you throughout the process, whether with obtaining translations, with filling out forms or by going with you to the Préfecture, and in whichever language is needed. Simply send us an email at: info@davrontranslations.com to tell us about your request, or call us at 09 74 59 20 87.
HOW TO OBTAIN A SWORN TRANSLATION FOR YOUR FRENCH RESIDENCE PERMIT:
Our sworn translation agency is located in the 8 th District of Paris, in the heart of the embassy and consulate district and minutes away from Parc Monceau and the Arc de Triomphe. Our team is available to accept your original documents on site and by appointment Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer consultations by telephone, email, chat, and WhatsApp.
A sworn translation does not have the same value as a certified translation. For your marriage application, don’t make the mistake of ordering any other translation than a sworn translation completed by a translator registered at a Court of Appeal, because it will unfortunately end up costing you… twice as much!
For Apostille and legalization requests, we’re here to help. Davron Translations can also assist in obtaining these documents in France and abroad.
