WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU SUCCESSFULLY BUY FRENCH REAL ESTATE
DON’T OVERLOOK THE IMPORTANCE OF PUTTING IN THE TIME AND EFFORT; MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ASSITANCE YOU NEED FOR YOUR REAL ESTATE PURCHASE
Love at first sight, a rational investment, a place of residence or a second home…there are many reasons why foreigners choose to buy property in France.
If this is the case for you: in order to turn your dream into reality, we recommend getting the support you need to buy your property without any administrative hurdles.
Once you have chosen your apartment or house, you will need to refer to the notary for the sales agreement and the deed of sale.
In order to do so, you will need to prepare various documents for this, including civil status documents. You will need to provide your birth certificate and, if applicable, your marriage certificate to determine your matrimonial regime, in order to
establish the purchase shares between you and your spouse.
How does the process of buying French real estate work?
OUR TRANSLATION SERVICE DEDICATED TO THE EXPAT COMMUNITY
Then, in order for your deed to be valid and unchallenged, the notary must obtain your informed consent. This means that anyone who does not understand French must be able to read the deed in the language they fully understand at least 48 hours before signing it.
Furthermore, given that amendments may be added right when the deed is signed, it is imperative for the notary to be able to guarantee that the deed has been understood by all the parties signing it.
Given that it is compulsory for them to read the deed in French for it to be valid under French law, they must use the services of a sworn interpreter during the signing so that the property purchase deed cannot be contested.
HOW TO GET YOUR SWORN TRANSLATIONS FOR YOUR REAL ESTATE PURCHASE
Our sworn translation agency is located in the 8th District of Paris, in the heart of the embassy and consulate district and minutes away from Parc Monceau and the Arc de Triomphe. Our team is available to accept your original documents on site and by appointment Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer consultations by telephone, email, chat, and WhatsApp.
A sworn translation does not have the same value as a certified translation. For your marriage application, don’t make the mistake of ordering any other translation than a sworn translation completed by a translator registered at a Court of Appeal, because it will unfortunately end up costing you… twice as much!
For Apostille and legalization requests, we’re here to help. Davron Translations can also assist in obtaining these documents in France and abroad.
