FRENCH VISA

ALL YOU NEED TO GET YOUR FRENCH VISA AND PREPARE YOUR STAY IN FRANCE

WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU OBTAIN A FRENCH VISA

OBTAINING A VISA IS A LENGTHY PROCESS; DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF LEAVING IT TO THE LAST MINUTE

Have you been hired to work in France, or you are moving to join your spouse?

Or, are you are coming to France for your studies, and you are wondering about all the required procedures?but must be operated by an experienced professional translator.

No need to panic; we will walk you through the process, step by step.

Inside the Davron Translations Paris Office

In short, there are three steps to follow:

Step 1: apply for your French visa

Step 2: find accommodation and bring your family

Step 3: once you are there, obtain your residence permit (carte de séjour)

With 15 years of experience serving expats, Davron Translations is here to guide you with each of these procedures!

HOW TO OBTAIN A FRENCH VISA:

15 years of experience in supporting EXPATS

THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE DEDICATED TO EXPATS

First of all, keep in mind that whenever you plan to spend more than 3 months in France, you must apply for a visa in order to remain in the country.

You will first need to determine the reason behind your stay, whether it’s to stay with family, for your studies, or for work.

Then, you will need to prepare several documents. Remember: make sure you have all these documents together with sworn translations for the French authorities in order for them to be accepted in France (sworn translators that appear on the list of the Court of Appeal).

You must then book an appointment with the consulate, and start the process of moving to France.

HOW TO FIND ACCOMMODATION AND HAVE YOUR FAMILY JOIN YOU:

To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend booking your accommodation before the move. Once you arrive, you will be busy with lots of different things, and you won’t have a moment to think about where you’ll be living.

The best thing is to ask for an initial selection of accommodation options, then see the location virtually to view the apartments on offer through a webcam or video call. Think about whether you would prefer to buy or rent a place. Electricity contracts and those for other services may be offered to you, and we can help you to set them up before you arrive. When moving, you may also consider opting for a specialised company.

If you are moving with your family, don’t forget that you can ask us for help with finding a school for your children or preparing your spouse’s visa. For your little ones, you will need to remember to translate their entire vaccination record because these compulsory vaccinations will be requested by the school when enrolling your children. Some compulsory vaccinations differ from country to country.

HOW TO OBTAIN YOUR RESIDENCE CARD (CARTE DE SÉJOUR) ONCE YOU
ARE IN THE COUNTRY:

Obtaining a visa is the first chapter of your administrative life abroad. Next, you will need to go to the Préfecture to apply for your residence card in order to be able to stay in France for as long as you’d like.

Please be aware that a visit to the Préfecture is a recurring administrative event when living in France, especially at the beginning. Afterwards, you can opt for a multi-year resident card (carte de résident pluriannuelle), or even apply for French nationality.

An interpreter can assist you with these procedures so that you can answer the Préfecture official questions in French and fill in all the required forms for the residence permit application.

Our sworn translation agency is located in the 8th District of Paris, in the heart of the embassy and consulate district and minutes away from Parc Monceau and the Arc de Triomphe.

Our team is available to accept your original documents on site and by appointment Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer consultations by telephone, email, chat, and WhatsApp.

A sworn translation does not have the same value as a certified translation. For your marriage application, don’t make the mistake of ordering any other translation than a sworn translation completed by a translator registered at a Court of Appeal, because it will unfortunately end up costing you… twice as much!

For Apostille and legalization requests, we’re here to help. Davron Translations can also assist in obtaining these documents in France and abroad.
